New Article in Journal of Applied Electrochemistry
In collaboration with Professor Cao Thang Dinh and Grafoid Inc., we investigated making hydrogen peroxide for wastewater treatment with an electrochemical process. Here, the presence of surfactants, as we find them in grey water (from sink, laundry machine, shower etc) inhibits the hydrogen peroxide production. In our paper, we show that hydrophobization of the electrode surface leads to increased surfactant tolerance and to high and stable hydrogen peroxide production rates
New article in Journal of Power Sources
The group, in collaboration with Dr. Parent, worked diligently to make graphene hydrogels from aqueous graphene nanoplatelet solutions stabilized with small amounts of graphene oxide. This binder-free electrode material is used for supercapacitors with much higher volumetric performance than conventional reduced graphene oxide hydrogels while being more economical. Congratulations to Josh and Andrew for publishing the work in Journal of Power Sources https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jpowsour.2024.234435 .
New article in Applied Materials and Interfaces
In collaboration with Dr. Kontopoulou’s group we used their noncovalent functionialized graphene to make supercapacitors. Congratulations to Haritha and Andrew to publish the article in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces. https://doi.org/10.1021/acsami.3c18174
